I have lived and worked in the Manhattan area for 40 years, raising 3 children and supporting the schools they attended. I am a graduate of the Kansas State University Department of Biochemistry and have been a K-State employee for over 36 years.
I am involved in social justice issues, particularly racial profiling and human rights, and support historic preservation and protection of Manhattan’s older neighborhoods. I have been an active participant in initiatives that support healthy neighborhoods and enhance the quality of life in Manhattan, including the Coalition for Equal Justice, Flint Hills Human Rights Project, Kansas Interfaith Action, Neighborhood MHK, Manhattan MLK Jr. Committee, and the Wonder Workshop. I am the K-State Karate Club advisor, and an avid supporter of music and the arts.
